El Diablo Hundo
El Diablo Hundo takes place at Lake Bistineau State Park in Doyline, LA and offers multiple trail race distances. The event uses a 10 mile loop that combines the Blue Wing, Koasati, and Whoa Mule trails. The route includes natural trail surfaces with muddy sections, tree roots, and minimal elevation change.
There are two aid stations on the loop. The main aid station at the Start/Finish area provides hot food and a variety of trail snacks. A second unmanned station around mile 5 offers water, snacks, ice, and electrolytes.
Distances offered include:
- 100 Miler
- 100K
- 50 Miler
- 25K
Lodging is available inside Lake Bistineau State Park, which lists premium and improved campsites with water and electrical hookups, cabins, and group camp facilities. Park features include mixed hardwood forest, cypress and tupelo stands, boat launches, hiking and biking trails, playgrounds, and fishing.
Finishers and awards vary by distance. The 100K and 100 Miler receive finisher buckles; the top three men and women in those distances receive custom buckle holders. The 25K and 50 Miler receive medals and plaques for top finishers. Event cutoffs are listed as 40 hours for the 100K and 100 Miler, and 15 hours for the 25K and 50 Miler.
