El Diablo Hundo
El Diablo Hundo is an ultramarathon event at Lake Bistineau State Park in Doyline, LA, organized by BTR. The event offers multiple race distances across trails that loop around upland mixed hardwood forest and lakeshore scenery.
Distances include:
- 25K
- 50 Miler
- 100K
- 100 Miler
The primary course for the 50 miler is a 10-mile loop that combines the Blue Wing, Koasati, and Whoa Mule trails. The loop runs on classic Louisiana State Park trail terrain: generally flat with minimal elevation, muddy sections, exposed tree roots, and natural trail surfaces. There are two aid stations on the loop. The main aid station at the Start/Finish area provides hot food and a variety of trail snacks. A second unmanned station near mile 5 offers water, snacks, ice, and electrolytes.
Lake Bistineau State Park sits on the western shore of the lake and includes forested trails, open water, cypress and tupelo stands, boat launches, picnic areas, playgrounds, cabins, and campsites. Campsite options listed for the park include premium sites with water and electrical hookups and improved sites with utilities.
