About the race
El Diablo Hundo is a multi distance trail event held at Lake Bistineau State Park in Doyline, LA and organized by BTR. The event offers multiple race options on a 10 mile loop that combines the Blue Wing, Koasati, and Whoa Mule trails. There are two aid stations on the loop: a main staffed station at the Start/Finish area with hot food and a variety of trail snacks, and a second unmanned station near mile 5 that provides water, snacks, ice, and electrolytes.
The course runs on classic Louisiana State Park trail terrain with generally flat, minimally elevated paths, including muddy sections, exposed tree roots, and natural trail surfaces. The park features upland mixed hardwood forest, cypress and tupelo stands, and shoreline views of Lake Bistineau. The park also offers cabins, camping, picnic facilities, hiking and biking trails, boat launches, and fishing.
Lodging at the park includes cabins and campsites: 17 premium campsites with water and electrical hookups, including five pull through sites and 12 prime locations, plus 44 improved campsites with water and electrical hookups. Race amenities list race day food at the Start/Finish with hot and cold options and vegan choices. Swag and awards are distance specific, including pull over hoodies, caps, cooling towels, finisher buckles for 100K and 100M, medals for 25K and 50M, and custom buckle holders for top finishers in some distances.
