EJ Autism 4 Mile Run/Walk
The EJ Autism 4 Mile Run/Walk is an annual community running event held at East Islip Marina Park in East Islip, New York. The event program includes a main four mile run and walk, the John McGorry Irish Mile (1.27 miles), and a 1/4 mile kiddie run. The course is described as flat and scenic with a start and finish on the Great South Bay and is USATF certified.
Event services include pre-race packet pickup the day before at Shandon Court and on-site check-in and packet pickup on race day. Parking is available at the marina, though nearby streets may be periodically closed and some delays are expected. Post-race activities feature a party and raffle at Shandon Court and live music.
Awards are provided across multiple categories. All finishers in the four mile event receive medals. Cash prizes are listed for top overall finishers and masters, plus age group awards and a school grant for the district with the most participants. Strollers are allowed free of charge if the child is registered and must start at the back of the field. Dogs are not encouraged.
