EJ Autism 4 Mile Run/Walk
The event is a community running and walking event held at East Islip Marina Park with a scenic start and finish along the Great South Bay. The main distance is a 4 Mile Run/Walk on a flat, USATF-certified course. The program also features the John McGorry Irish Mile (1.27) and a 1/4 mile kiddie run.
Post-event amenities include a race shirt, an awards program across many age groups, a raffle, and a post-race party at Shandon Court. All finishers in the 4 Mile receive medals. Cash prizes are listed for top overall and masters finishers and age-group awards are given for standard age bands. The school district bringing the most participants wins a $1000 grant.
Packet pickup is available before the event at Shandon Court and on race day at East Islip Marina, where day-of registration is also offered. Parking is available at the marina; some local streets may be impacted and road marshals will manage crossings. Strollers are permitted at no charge with a paper registration at the marina and should start at the back of the field. Dogs are not encouraged.
Fundraising options are available that can offset registration costs. Live online results, same-day finish line photos, and event photos are provided for participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
