Edgerton Rascal Run
The Edgerton Rascal Run is a long-standing community event held in Edgerton, Wisconsin. The run takes place at Racetrack Park and serves as a local tradition to mark the start of the Tobacco Heritage Days weekend. Participants contribute to supporting the Edgerton Cross Country Team through their participation in this timed race.
The event contains two primary distances:
- 5k (3.1 miles) run/walk
- 1-mile run/walk
The 5k route proceeds through several areas of the town, while both distances are professionally timed. The event features updated routes to accommodate local conditions. Registration is handled exclusively online, and no paper forms are accepted, even for those registering on the day of the event. While cash payments are an option on-site, participants still use the digital system to enter.
Racers who register by June 27th are provided with an event t-shirt and a medal, with youth sizes available. Those who register after this date are not guaranteed these items. Post-race fuel and complimentary refreshments are provided to all participants at the finish area. Awards are presented for the top overall male and female finishers in the 5k, as well as for various age categories ranging from 4 and under up to 70 and over.
The venue at Racetrack Park includes several amenities for visitors, such as a play area, frisbee golf course, a deer pen, and the Linear Arboretum. The Big Wheel Race is also held nearby following the conclusion of the Rascal Run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
