Eden Marathon and Half-Marathon - Eden Project
The Eden Marathon and Half-Marathon is a running event held at the Eden Project in Cornwall in partnership with St Austell Running Club. The event for 2026 takes place on Sunday 18 October and offers two race distances:
- Marathon
- Half-Marathon
Both courses run through areas of mining heritage and countryside. The Marathon is a hilly, multi-terrain course with roughly 70% on trails, paths and private roads and 30% on public roads. The Half-Marathon comprises about 60% public roads and 40% trails and paths. The route is waymarked and marshals are posted at various locations.
Practical arrangements include chip timing with free online RunPix analysis, water stations about every three miles using non-plastic recyclable cups, and isotonic drink points (Half-Marathon at mile 7; Marathon at miles 7, 14 and 21). Every racer receives a themed finish medal, a pasty and a beer, and runners and accompanying family members have free entry to the Eden site on the day.
Entry rules and services: the Marathon requires entrants to be at least 18 years old and the Half-Marathon at least 17. There is a strict Marathon cut-off of five and a half hours with interim cut-offs at set mile markers. Baggage storage is available; there are no shower facilities. Refunds are allowed within 14 days of payment under the event terms and no deferments or transfers to other competitors are permitted.
