Eden Marathon and Half-Marathon : Sunday 19 October 2025
The Eden Marathon and Half-Marathon is held at the Eden Project in Cornwall on Sunday 19 October 2025. Entries for the 2025 event have closed. The event includes two race distances:
- Marathon
- Half-Marathon
Course, services and practical information
Both races follow marked, marshalled routes through countryside with mining heritage. The course is hilly and multi-terrain. The Marathon route is roughly 70% on trails, paths and private roads and 30% on public roads. The Half-Marathon is about 60% on public roads and 40% on trails and paths. The Marathon organisers recommend trail shoes because surfaces can be wet and muddy; off-road shoes are not usually necessary for the Half-Marathon.
Water stations are placed approximately every three miles and isotonic drinks are provided at specific points. Chip timing is used and online race analysis is available. Every finisher receives a medal, and all runners are offered a pasty and a beer. Runners and accompanying family members receive free entry to the Eden Project on race day. Race numbers for UK entrants are posted in early October; overseas entrants collect numbers at the Visitor Centre. Baggage storage is available; there are no shower facilities. Headphones are not permitted under UKA regulations and wearing them may lead to disqualification.
Age limits: Marathon entrants must be 18 or older on the event date; Half-Marathon entrants must be 17 or older. There is no upper age limit. The Marathon has a strict overall cut-off of five and a half hours and interim cut-offs at specified mile points. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
