Echo 136

Echo 136 is a point-to-point 136 mile ultramarathon on the Ice Age State Trail in the Southern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest near Whitewater, WI. The course follows a mix of wide groomed trails, single track, bike paths and road connectors and runs generally north from the Rice Lake boat launch to CTH P.

Organizers provide nine fully stocked, covered aid stations with chairs, cots and a range of foods. Stations will offer water, soda, ice and an electrolyte drink; entree options and a full menu will be published in the runners manual. The event uses mile markers from the FarOut Ice Age Trail map; section distances are approximations and placement may change based on trail management or entrant numbers. Total recorded elevation change for the provided GPX file is about 11,148 ft gain and 10,961 ft loss.

Event policies include no organizer-provided alcohol, no race-day registration, no cowbells or similar persistent noise makers, and a cupless approach where single-use disposable cups are not provided and personal vessels will be refilled. Crews must follow rules and posted signs; crew misconduct may lead to disqualification. A runners manual and GPX files will be made available by the organizers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
