Echo 136 : Whitewater, WI
Echo 136 is a 136-mile point-to-point run through the Southern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest in Whitewater, Wisconsin. The course follows the Ice Age State Trail and includes a mix of gentle wide groomed trails, single track, bike paths and road connectors. The available time limit for the event is 55 hours.
The route is served by nine fully stocked aid stations placed along the trail. Aid stations are described as covered tents with chairs and cots, and they will offer water, soda, ice, an electrolyte drink and a range of foods including sweets, salty snacks and warm and cold options. Organizers note sensitivity to dietary preferences and can store food for runners who identify as celiac, although cross contamination cannot be guaranteed. Mile markers and distances between aid stations are provided from the Ice Age Trail map; total recorded elevation gain is about 11,148 feet with total loss about 10,961 feet. GPX and measured distances are offered as best approximations and may vary by device or source.
Event policies include no organizer provided alcohol, no race day sign up, a cupless approach for refilling personal vessels, and restrictions on noise makers. Crews must follow posted rules and laws; problems caused by a crew can lead to disqualification. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
