Discover Whitewater Series
The Discover Whitewater Series is an annual running event in Whitewater, Wisconsin held every September. The event is organized by the Greater Whitewater Committee and includes multiple race formats that showcase the city and raise funds for local organizations.
Race formats include:
- Half Marathon
- 5K
- 5K Teams
- Fit Kid Shuffle (children under 10)
All entries support local charities; the series has distributed over $314,881 to local organizations since its inception. Race perks for participants include a finisher’s medal, a race day shirt, a free day pass to the Whitewater Aquatic Center with discounted pass options, and a beverage coupon redeemable at the post-race celebration at 841 Brewhouse. Top overall finishers in the Half Marathon receive a purse prize.
The Fit Kid Shuffle takes place on race day and is supervised by student volunteers; participants receive a medal and top placers in each age category receive trophies. The 5K Teams category accepts four-person teams from businesses or student organizations, with the top three times counting toward the team result; the winning group receives a traveling trophy with their name inscribed.
Packet pick-up is required prior to race start and packets include health guidelines, race information, t-shirts, and bibs. Participants who register before September 1 may pick up shirts on-site; later registrants may receive shirts after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
