City Oasis East Water Tanks Run - Townsville
The event takes place on Saturday 22 August 2026 with both courses starting and finishing at City Oasis Inn, 143 Wills Street, Townsville City. Registration closes on 21 August 2026. Entry is free for members and costs $6 for non-members. Participants are invited to stay for coffee and breakfast afterwards. Race briefing is held out the back behind the pool; attendees are asked to make their way there quietly.
There are two marked courses that use streets, paths and dirt trails through the city and around local landmarks. Both courses begin on Hale Street behind the City Oasis Inn, proceed through residential streets, include a dirt trail to the Maiden Hair track and sections on Stanton Terrace and Gregory Street, and finish at the City Oasis Inn.
- Long course: 7.8 km
- Short course: 4.6 km
The long course follows a longer loop that goes toward the first water tank, continues onto Hillside Crescent and Castle Hill approaches, then follows Kennedy Street to The Strand and returns via Wickham and Flinders streets, crossing bridges and Victoria Bridge on the final approach. The short course follows the Maiden Hair track and Stanton Terrace, returns via Gregory, Eyre and Denham streets to Wills Street. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
