Railway Run - Townsville
Railway Run is a club road run held at Strand Park in Townsville. The event awards club points and is the third race in the President's Cup Series. Registration for the event closes on Fri 28 Aug 2026 20:00. The entry cost is $6 for non members.
Both courses start at the Picnic Bay Surf Life Saving Club area at Strand Park and finish on the Strand promenade at Strand Park. The long route is approximately 8.6 km and the short route is approximately 4.7 km.
The long course follows Burke Street into Queens Park, continues along Stanley and Flinders streets, crosses the railway lines through the pedestrian gates, passes the new railway station car park and the V8 track, crosses the Saunders Street footpath and the railway overpass, follows Ross Creek and crosses the Denham Street bridge, then returns via Denham Street, Melton Terrace, Cleveland Terrace and Oxley Street to The Strand. The short course follows Burke Street into Queens Park, then Denham Street past the cathedral into Oxley Street before returning to The Strand.
