East Shore 5k
The East Shore 5k is an annual community event held in East Shore Park in New Haven, Connecticut. The event offers multiple participation options along the New Haven waterfront, providing views of the water on a flat course. Water stations are positioned along the path for hydration, and volunteers assist with navigation along the marked route. This event marks the fifth edition of the run.
Participants can choose from several event types:
- 5k Run: A timed event.
- 5k Walk: A non-timed discipline.
- Kids Fun Run: A free participation event for children.
The competition includes division medals for all age groups. Cash awards are provided for the first and second place top male and female runners. Additionally, registered participants are entered into a cash drawing via an entry card received at the event. Groups or teams consisting of five or more participants are also eligible for a separate team cash award.
Race day registration is available near the pickleball courts on Woodward Avenue, close to the Coast Guard Station. All proceeds from the event benefit Our Nation's Promise, an organization focused on recovering missing fallen heroes and providing closure for their families.
