Event Overview
The East Fork 100 mi/100K/50K/15 mi is an ultrarunning event held at East Fork State Park in Bethel, Ohio. It is the only 100-mile and 100-kilometer race in the Southwest Ohio area.
Race Distances and Course
The event offers four distances:
- 100 miles
- 100 kilometers
- 50 kilometers
- 15 miles
The main course is a roughly 33-mile loop around William H. Harsha Lake, utilizing mountain bike trails, hiking paths, the Steve Newman Worldwalker Perimeter trail, and a small amount of park road. The terrain is rolling with creek crossings and features lake views, single-track trails, a waterfall in a pine forest, and open fields. Distances are completed by running multiple loops: three for the 100-mile, two for the 100K, and one for the 50K. The 15-mile race is an out-and-back on the same trails to the first manned aid station. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Key Information
- Cutoffs: A 40-hour overall cutoff applies to the 100-mile, 100K, and 50K races. The 15-mile race has a 12-hour cutoff. Specific intermediate cutoffs are in place for the longer distances.
- Aid Stations: The course features multiple fully manned and unmanned water-only stations. Crew access is permitted at designated aid stations for 100-mile and 100K runners. Pacers are allowed for these distances starting with the second loop.
- Cupless Event: Runners must carry their own bottles or bladder and a reusable cup for drinks at aid stations.
- Mandatory Gear: Required items include a light with spare batteries, a cell phone, a container for at least 1 liter of liquid, and an emergency rain jacket.
- Swag & Awards: All entrants receive high-quality swag. Finishers receive a finisher award, with 100-mile finishers receiving a belt buckle.
- Packet Pickup: Available at the start/finish area the day before and the morning of the event.
