Event overview
East Fork offers four trail race options in Bethel, Ohio, around William H. Harsha Lake: 100 Miler, 100K, 50K, and 15 Miler. The course runs counterclockwise on a roughly 33-mile loop. Runners complete three loops for the 100 mile distance, two loops for the 100K, and one loop for the 50K. The 15 miler is an out-and-back to the first manned aid station on rolling trails. The event is part of the rabbit Trail Tour.
Course and aid stations
The route uses mountain bike and hiking trails, some park road shoulder, and portions of the Steve Newman Worldwalker Perimeter trail. Features include lake views, singletrack, a waterfall in a pine forest, open fields, and several creek crossings. The course distances listed by the organizer are:
- 100 Miler - 101.1 mi
- 100K - 67.4 mi
- 50K - 33.7 mi
- 15 Miler - 15 mi
There are multiple aid stations, including fully manned stations with drop bag and crew access at specified points, and unmanned water stations offering water only. Some aid stations have portalets.
Cutoffs, gear and rules
Time limits apply: 40 hour cutoffs for the 100M/100K/50K and a 12 hour cutoff for the 15 miler, with intermediate hour-based loop cutoffs and a hard cutoff at the Nature Center aid station for some races. The event is cupless; runners must carry their own containers and a reusable cup. Mandatory gear includes a headlamp or waist light with spare power, a cell phone, a container for at least 1 liter of liquid, and an emergency poncho or rain jacket. Pacers are allowed for 100M and 100K starting with the second loop. Packet pickup is scheduled at the start/finish area on the day before and the morning of the event.
