The Vernal Equinox 48-24-12-8 Hour Run takes place March 27-29, 2026 at Majestic Farm, 5700 State Route 132, Batavia, Ohio. Distances offered include:
- 48-hour
- 24-hour
- 12-hour
- 8-hour
- 12-hour Ruckers division
Registration closes March 20. Cash prizes of $250 are available for breaking the 24-hour and 48-hour course records. Current course records are: 48-hour men 190 miles, 48-hour women 156 miles, 24-hour men 112 miles, 24-hour women 110 miles. There are no refunds; a deferral policy applies with graduated percentages based on how many days before the event the request is made.
Course, rules and logistics
The event uses a 2-mile loop over wooded trails, meadows, and gravel road, with a barn at the start/finish area. This is a cupless race; participants receive a reusable cup with their packet and no paper cups are provided at aid stations. Aid stations will offer typical ultrarunning foods, hot items (soup, grilled cheese, coffee), and vegan options.
Free clean horse stalls are available for staging, napping, or storage and may be shared. RV hookups are available for a fee of $45. A 12-hour ruckers division requires a dry pack weight of 30 lb for competitors over 150 lb and 20 lb for those under 150 lb.
An Athletes With Disability (AWD) division is offered with visually impaired and mobility impaired categories. The course is not suitable for wheelchairs. Guides may accompany AWD athletes under specified rules; guides must wear a visible GUIDE bib and are not timed unless registered.
