Vernal Equinox 48-24-12-8 Hour Run - March 27-29, 2026
Vernal Equinox is a multi-distance ultrarunning event held at Majestic Farm in Batavia, Ohio. The event uses a 2-mile loop that runs through meadows, wooded trails, and gravel road. Each loop passes a large barn located at the loop central area.
Distances offered:
- 48 Hour
- 24 Hour
- 12 Hour (day)
- 12 Hour Ruckers
- 8 Hour
Aid station provisions include typical ultrarunning food plus hot items such as homemade soup, grilled cheese, and fresh coffee. Vegan options are available. The event is cupless: participants receive a reusable cup with their packet and no paper cups will be provided. Bowls and plates are provided for hot food.
Facilities and race services include free clean horse stalls available for staging, storage, or napping and RV hookups offered for a fee. Stalls can be shared and stall placement prioritizes the longer-duration events. Swag includes Rabbit long sleeve shirts and custom handmade finisher awards; belt buckles are available for 100, 150, and 200 mile achievements.
The race includes an Athletes With Disability (AWD) division with guidelines for visually and mobility impaired athletes; AWD entrants must be ambulatory and able to follow course markings. A 12 hour rucking division is available with weight standards based on body weight. The event offers equal podium spots and prize structures for women and men. There are no refunds; a deferral schedule is published. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
