East Bay Running Festival
The East Bay Running Festival is a multi-distance athletic event held in Warren, Rhode Island. The event hub is located at the Pete Sepe Pavilion on Asylum Road. Participants can choose from several different course options:
- 10k: A USATF certified chip-timed road race.
- 5k: A USATF certified chip-timed road race.
- 1-mile Walk: A non-competitive walk primarily following the Warren Bike Path.
- 400m Kid's Race: An age-appropriate run held on a wide-open field.
The 5k and 10k courses begin with a cross-country start on the grass before transitioning to the local bike path. Runners experience short inclines and flat sections as they travel toward Touisset Point. The routes pass by stone walls, local farms, and residential areas before returning to finish near the Warren Little League field. The 1-mile Walk utilizes the bike path through wooded areas to Long Lane, a country road closed to vehicle traffic during the event.
The festival includes an on-site post-race gathering featuring food vendors, a beer garden, and live music. Registered participants receive food and drink coupons included on their race bibs. Other activities available on the grounds include a petting zoo, face painting, and crafts. Awards are presented to the first overall male and female finishers, as well as winners across various age groups. Pre-registered participants receive an event t-shirt. All proceeds from the event benefit the Bristol Warren Education Foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
