Dyslexia Dash is an in-person community run with a festival atmosphere that supports the outreach and training work of IDA-GA. The event offers race options for multiple ages and participation styles, including an in-person 5K that is chip timed and designated as a Peachtree Qualifier, a kids 1 mile for ages 10 and under, and a virtual 5K with an upload window in early October through October 17. Race shirts for virtual participants are mailed the week of October 19.
A festival near the start and finish area includes activity zones and family-oriented features such as creation stations, Curiosity Corner games, a photo booth, face painting, a kids zone, sponsor booths, food and beverage vendors, and information tables from IDA-GA and peer organizations. Parking is available near Von Maur and in front of Nordstrom on the back side of Perimeter Mall.
Awards and recognition are given to top finishers, with medals for overall male and female, masters male and female, and the top three male and female finishers in multiple age groups (8 and under; 9-12; 13-15; 16-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60+). The event also features fundraising, a 50/50 raffle, a teacher appreciation raffle, and sponsorship opportunities.
