Dyslexia Dash - October 17, 2026
The Dyslexia Dash is an annual community event presented by the International Dyslexia Association Georgia. The event on October 17, 2026 takes place at Perimeter Mall in Atlanta with a Start/Finish on Perimeter Center Parkway NE at the back side of the mall. A festival area will be set up near the Start/Finish in Nordstrom’s back parking lot, adjacent to Von Maur. Parking is available in Von Maur’s lot and near Nordstrom.
The event offers in-person and virtual participation and supports IDA-GA outreach, grants, and teacher training scholarships. The in-person program includes a chip-timed Peachtree Qualifier 5K and a kids 1-mile fun run. Organizers provide race shirts and bags to participants and will mail shirts to virtual participants the week of October 19. Volunteers are sought for tasks such as setup, course support, and cheering.
The day includes a festival with activities and services for families: a Kids Zone with Creation Stations and Curiosity Corner games, a photo booth, sponsor booths, food and beverage vendors, face painting, hula hooping, and a talent and creativity showcase for dyslexic authors and artists. Awards and prizes include gift cards for top overall finishers and medals by age and category. Fundraising rewards include recognition on the race shirt for certain donor and fundraiser levels, and sponsorship opportunities follow published deadlines.
