Dysart Woods
Dysart Woods is a marked trail race in County Laois held on Saturday 25 April 2026. The main route is an anti-clockwise loop through Coillte forest on wooded trails, covering 6.5 km with approximately 250 m of ascent. The course includes climbs up Hewson Hill, moderate but steep technical descents, and views of the Rock of Dunamaise and surrounding hills. GPS use is allowed and the route is unchanged from the previous year.
There is a junior out and back route of about 3 km. Children under 10 must be accompanied on the course by a parent or guardian. A marshal will be stationed at the junior turnaround point.
Mandatory kit for all competitors is Level A basic equipment, specifically a showerproof windproof jacket that must be carried or worn for the duration of the event. IMRA membership for 2026 is required for competitors and costs €20 annually; this charge is added to the first race entry if applicable. Entry costs for the event are €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s. Entry is limited to 250 competitors and there are no cash entries on the day.
The race start and registration are located at Carrigmeal woodlands, adjacent to the Dysart Woods carpark field; marshals will direct participants.
