Streets of Portlaoise 5K 2026
Portlaoise AC organises a St Patrick's Day 5 km road race through the streets of Portlaoise on March 17 2026. The course is described as fast and relatively flat and finishes in the town centre. A permit has been approved, certificate number 25/694.
Runners must be at least 13 years of age on the day to take part in the 5 km. Athletes who enter at the junior rate are eligible only for junior prizes. All finishers in the applicable races receive a medal.
Additional running opportunities for younger participants are listed alongside the main race:
- 5 km main race
- 700 m for ages 10 to 14
- 400 m for ages 5 to 9
Ticketing information published for the event includes sample prices: Adult 5 km entry (over 20) priced at €25, Juvenile 5 km entry (ages 13 to 20) at €20, a virtual entry option with t-shirt and postage at €35, and a race t-shirt available at €20.
