Durham City Run Festival
Durham City Run Festival is a three day running festival held in the historic city centre in July 2026 to mark the event's tenth anniversary. The programme includes evening road races that pass several of Durham's historic landmarks, with participants receiving a medal and a goody bag.
Events are organised by Events of the North in partnership with Durham County Council. The festival programme features a special film screening and live podcast event titled Paula Radcliffe: Chasing Stars as an opening celebration for the anniversary.
A community-focused family event, Paula's Families on Track returns as a team relay with fancy dress and on-course activities. The relay offers different lap lengths so a range of ages can take part together.
Distances:
- 5K race
- 10K race
- Team relay with different lap lengths for families
The festival presents a mix of competitive and participatory events across the weekend, and publicity mentions local charities, commercial partners, and media partners as part of the event network. Practical details such as registration, the full events programme, and news updates are published by the organisers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
