Dunes Dash 5K
The Dunes Dash 5K is hosted by Save the Dunes at West Beach in Indiana Dunes National Park in Gary, IN on May 30, 2026. The event takes place at West Beach, 376 North County Line Road, Gary, IN 46403, and is presented as an annual fundraiser to support conservation and advocacy work for the Indiana Dunes and Lake Michigan.

The 5K course winds through sandy, hilly trails with stairs and elevation changes. The course is described as moderate to strenuous while remaining approachable for participants seeking a trail experience different from a typical road race.
Registration details list fees and open periods: the 5K has a registration fee of $30 and the kids run has a registration fee of $15. Registration opens in January 2026 and closes on May 30, 2026. T-shirts may be added for $25 with registrations received before May 10, 2026.
Indiana Dunes National Park passes are required for entry and may be purchased at the park gate or in advance through Save the Dunes or the National Park.
