Event

The Burnsall 12K is a trail race scheduled for Saturday 18 April 2026. It is a new addition to the Due North trail series and is the first race of the trilogy; entering all three races provides a discount and qualification for the series championship. The route follows the first section of the Burnsall half marathon with a diversion at Appletreewick to return to the Burnsall finish. The event is billed as 12K, though the course is actually closer to 11 km. Age limit for all trail races is 17+.

Logistics and facilities

The start and finish are at the riverside car park field in Burnsall village, beside the Red Lion pub and the bridge; a registration tent is located in the car park. The course is fully waymarked and includes an on-course drinks station supplying water, juice, fruit and sweets. Included for participants are post-race food, a bottle of beer, Due North merchandise and other sponsor items. There are toilet blocks at the top of the car park and in the smaller car park across the bridge. Organisers ask that spectators do not drive or park on narrow country roads. Prize details: results and prizes for 1st–3rd male and female plus age categories (V40, 50, 60, 70+) will be handled by email. Minimum kit requirements include a waterproof jacket, a cup or bottle for water and a mobile phone with a location app such as OS Locate. No dogs are allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
