2026 Duck NC Turkey Trot 5K Presented By Carolina Designs Realty
The Duck Turkey Trot 5K is an annual charitable run/walk held on Thursday November 26, 2026. The event is produced by the First Flight Track Club, a local 501 C-3 nonprofit that supports youth runners in Dare County. It continues the tradition of the Advice 5K Turkey Trot, retired in 2021, and is open to runners and walkers of all abilities.
The course starts on Christopher Drive adjacent to Scarborough Faire in downtown Duck, proceeds toward the Atlantic and turns south on Ocean Way. It then returns toward the sound on Scarborough Lane to NC12, heads north along NC12 to Schooner Ridge Drive across from the Global Methodist Church, goes up and over the hill on Schooner Ridge, traverses Chip Court, completes a loop on Schooner Ridge Drive, and returns south on NC12 to finish near the start on Christopher Drive. Aid stations will be available along the course.
Registration opens September 1, 2026 and closes November 1, 2026; the registration fee is $50. Packet pickup takes place Wednesday night at Swells'a Brewing Duck Dive Bar. Each registration includes a tee shirt, swag bag, a hot drink ticket, a SWELLS'A beer ticket for those over 21, and post-race carbohydrates. A reception and after-event celebration will be held at Tree House Cafe and Coffee in Scarborough Faire. The event features a charity auction and raffles. Prizes will be awarded to the first male and first female finishers and to randomly selected racers. The race is not chip timed; top finishers will be posted and a race clock will display time.
