Drew Russell Memorial Run
The Drew Russell Memorial Run is a 5K Run/Walk event with both an in-person race and a virtual option. The live event is held at the Student Recreation Center, 1903 W Michigan Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49008. The race raises funds for an endowed scholarship awarded to a Western Michigan University ROTC cadet in remembrance of a WMU ROTC alumnus who was killed in action in Kandahar Province in 2011.

Registration pricing is tiered, with an early bird rate of $20 until Feb 23 and a regular rate of $25 from Feb 24 to April 4. To be guaranteed a t-shirt, participants must register before March 7. In-person participants pick up t-shirts at the race registration table; virtual participants receive t-shirts by mail. Medals are awarded to winners in each category, and only in-person participants are eligible for medals. Award categories are male and female for these age groups: below 25, 26 to 40, and above 41.
