51st Annual DRC's The Half
Organized by the Dallas Running Club, this annual event takes place at Norbuck Park and utilizes the trails around White Rock Lake in Dallas. The Dallas Running Club is a volunteer-led organization that has supported the local running community since 1969. Proceeds from the half marathon event benefit the Tal Morrison Scholarship Fund, which provides financial assistance to graduating students involved in cross-country programs.
Participants can choose from three main distances:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10K Run/Walk
- 5K Run/Walk
The courses are USATF certified and include water stops and course monitors. Registration includes a long-sleeve participant shirt and a finisher's medal. While no shuttle service is provided and on-site parking at Norbuck Park is restricted to authorized personnel, alternative parking is suggested at Flag Pole Hill or the nearby White Rock DART Rail station.
General regulations state that dogs and other animals are not permitted on the course. Strollers are allowed, provided they do not start at the front of the pack and stay to the right-hand side. Age group awards are issued in 10-year increments and must be collected in person on the day of the event. A bag check service is available for all participants at the race site.
