Dr. Gann’s Diet of Hope Cinco de Mayo 10K & 5K + FitKidz Mile : Tucson, May 2, 2027
This event offers road races through the Starr Pass foothills of the Tucson Mountains, starting and finishing at Cholla High School, 2001 W Starr Pass Blvd, Tucson, AZ. The course provides mountain scenery and views of the Tucson basin. The 10K is included in The Running Shop SAR Grand Prix series.

All participants receive a technical shirt and a custom finisher's medal. Onsite food and drink items listed for participants include free pastries from La Estrella Bakery, a free breakfast burrito from Amelia's Mexican Kitchen, free Eegee's, and free Celsius energy drinks. Bib holders also receive 10% off food at Amelia's Mexican Kitchen at 5851 N Oracle Rd.
Family-oriented activities are part of the event, including a sombrero-topped kids race, a piñata, and a water balloon toss. A live mariachi band performs as part of a Cinco de Mayo celebration after the races.
Awards are offered for overall, masters, age-group, chair division, and non-binary finishers in both the 10K and 5K. Prize details include Fleet Feet gift cards and specially designed running hats for top finishers. The event supports Youth on Their Own, a local dropout prevention program in Pima County.
