Event overview
May 2, 2027 at Cholla High School, 2001 W Starr Pass Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85713. The event includes multiple distance options and a post-race Cinco de Mayo celebration with a live mariachi band.
The course runs through Starr Pass in the foothills of the Tucson Mountains and offers views of the surrounding mountains and the Tucson basin. The 10 km race is part of The Running Shop SAR Grand Prix.

All participants receive a technical shirt, a custom finisher medal, free pastries from La Estrella Bakery, a free breakfast burrito from Amelia's Mexican Kitchen, free Eegee's, and free Celsius energy drinks. Bib holders also receive 10% off food at Amelia's Mexican Kitchen at 5851 N Oracle Rd.
Children's activities include a sombrero-topped kids race, a piñata, and a water balloon toss. The FitKidz 1-mile race is free for children ages 12 and under.
Awards are offered for overall, masters, and 5-year age groups in both the 10 km and 5 km races, with gift card prizes to Fleet Feet and specially designed running hats for many top finishers. The event notes that there is no double dipping for awards.
