Celebrating its 23rd year, the race is part of the River City Races Run the 502 series. Participants who complete six races on the series calendar receive a Run the 502 finisher medal with charms for the races finished. Race entry includes a choice of short sleeve cotton blend shirt, a short sleeve wicking tech shirt, or a women's only wicking tank with pre registration guaranteeing shirts; registrants may also purchase additional shirt options. Other included items are a finisher medal, free finisher photos, post race breakfast at the Humana Cabana inside Louisville Slugger Field, door prize drawings, and a team competition. Participants who raise a specified fundraising amount for Big Brothers Big Sisters or Heuser Hearing Institute have an entry fee incentive.

A virtual 4 mile option is available for participants to run or walk at a location of their choice; virtual runners are not eligible for awards. Pre race packet pickup is scheduled for the day before the race at Ken Combs Running Store, 4137 Shelbyville Rd.
