Downtown Kitchener Mile 2026

The Downtown Kitchener Mile is a certified one mile race (1,609 metres) taking place in Victoria Park, Kitchener, Ontario on July 29, 2026. This event is the sixth running of the distance.

The course consists of one full loop and one partial loop within Victoria Park. The park remains open to other users during the event and volunteers will be on site to inform the public. The course is certified by Athletics Canada.

Timing is chip timed using reusable chips that must be returned after finishing. Results will be posted online after the race.

The race is part of the Run Pure + Simple series and offers minimal extras: no t shirts or finisher medals, and food or awards are minimal if offered. The event is free for Run Waterloo members; the general registration fee shown is CA$19.77. All entries are non refundable, non transferable, and non deferrable. Strollers are not permitted on course.

Starts are organized in waves by expected finish time: under 7 minutes, 7 to 9 minutes, and over 9 minutes. Kit pickup is available only on race day in Victoria Park and there are no race day entries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
