Brightstar Downtown 5K
The Brightstar Downtown 5K is an athletic event held in Providence, Rhode Island. The course starts at 10 Memorial Boulevard and features chip timing for participants. All entrants receive a t-shirt as part of their registration.
The event offers several individual and team categories. Participants can register for the following distances and formats:
- 5 km run or walk
- Virtual 5 km run or walk
- Youth Races (100 yards for ages 1-5 and 1/4 mile for ages 6-10)
Safety guidelines specify that pets are not permitted at the event. Participants with baby strollers are allowed but must participate as walkers and line up at the back of the starting field.
Awards are presented to the top three overall finishers in the men's, women's, and non-binary categories. Additional awards are available for winners in age groups ranging from under 19 to over 90. Team awards are provided for the fastest "Family and Friends" and "Corporate" groups, where the top three individual chip times are scored.
Pre-race packet pickup is available on the Friday and Saturday before the event at Marathon Sports in the Providence Place mall. Parking for participants is also located at the Providence Place parking lots. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
