About the race
Down the Stretch Track Fest is a track meet scheduled for Saturday, May 22, 2027 at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. The meet features races contested on the track and offers open and select fields that range from community heats to elite-level competition. Event features include music throughout the evening, food and beer available on site, and professionally run, time-seeded heats. Heats are seeded by entry time; open races combine men and women while select races typically run women first followed by men.
One complimentary beverage is included with entry for competitors. The Youth Mile is free for children 13 and under who can maintain a 15:00 mile pace. Athlete logistics note that competitors must check in on arrival to pick up bib and hip numbers; final race assignments are given before each race. A bag drop area will be available with a tear-off adhesive tag from the bib.
The facility and the GMU fieldhouse will be open to participants, and parking is available adjacent to the outdoor track at 4400 University Drive, Fairfax, Virginia. The campus is accessible by Metro Bus, Cue Bus, and the Vienna Fairfax GMU Metro stop with shuttle service to campus. Prize details for the Webb Mile are listed as $750, $150, and $100 for the top three places, with an additional $250 available for the fastest mile recorded on Virginia soil.
