About the race
The Doughnut Dash 5km is the sixth annual running event held at Leander Boat Club on Leander Drive in Hamilton, Ontario on November 15, 2026. The event includes a main 5 km race and a separate kids dash, listed as Kids 1 km and also noted as 800 m in race information.
The course is a new layout for this year and follows an out-and-back route on the waterfront trail. The course is described as accurately measured and flat. Chip timing will be used and finishers in both races receive medals.
Event extras and services include doughnuts for all participants provided by the official sponsor Grandads Doughnuts, with the bakery located a short distance from the race site. Long sleeve shirts are offered to registrants who enter by November 1st; quantities are limited and uncollected shirts will not be mailed. Awards are given by age group and overall, with five year age groups for younger runners, a 15 to 19 category, then ten year age groups up to 70 and over; top three finishers are recognized in each category. Many draw prizes are planned.
