Olympic Venue Racing
The Dorney Triathlon takes place at Dorney Lake in Windsor, a venue previously used for the Olympic Games. This event offers a draft-illegal racing format across several multi-discipline distances. The location features clear water for the swim and flat grounds that support a fast bike and run course. Participants compete on a closed-circuit environment rather than open roads, and all races are chip timed.
Event Options- Distances
The competition includes several formats to accommodate different preferences, including full triathlons, relays for teams of two or three people, and Aquabike options for those who prefer not to run. The available distances include:
- Super Sprint: 400m swim, 10km bike, 2.5km run
- Sprint: 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run
- Standard: 1500m swim, 40km bike, 10km run
- Aquabike: 750m/20km or 1500m/40km swim and bike only
- Relay: Sprint or Standard distances shared between team members
Participation Requirements
All participants are required to be members of British Triathlon and hold a valid race licence. This can be achieved through an annual membership or by purchasing a single-use Race Pass. The event is open to individuals aged 15 and over for Super Sprint and Sprint distances, while the Standard distance requires participants to be at least 17 years old. On-site facilities include free parking for attendees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
