Beat The Sunset 50km - Maidenhead
The Beat The Sunset 50km is a single-lap ultra marathon held in Maidenhead on May 22, 2027. The route is a multi-terrain course that runs along the Thames Path, Jubilee River and the Green Way and is described as flat with a total elevation gain of 235 m. About 75% of the route is off road.
The event distance is 50 km with four checkpoints spaced at approximately 10 km intervals. The course is fully signed and the event uses chip timing with free live tracking. Aid stations provide cola, water, and a selection of sweet and savoury snacks. Personal nutrition drops can be left and taken to the third and fourth checkpoints. Massage is available both before and after the event. Free downloadable race photos are provided and finishers receive a medal and other race mementoes.
Mandatory kit includes a fully charged phone, a foil blanket, and a full 500 ml bottle or vessel for fluids. Recommended kit includes a waterproof or showerproof jacket, a cup, a method of payment, and the event course map. Entries are priced around £68 to £70 and close on May 19 unless capacity is reached earlier. A GPX file and a provisional course map are available for the route.
