The Beat The Sunset 50km is a multi-terrain ultramarathon that starts and finishes in Maidenhead, Berkshire, with the venue at Summerleaze Park (SL6 8SP). The race distance is 50 km with approximately 235 m of elevation. The single-lap route is described as largely flat and follows the Thames Path, Jubilee River and the Green Way. The course is fully signed and is about 75% off road.
Race services and logistics
There are four checkpoints on course at roughly 10 km intervals. Checkpoints stock cola, water, and sweet and savoury snacks. Chip timing and free live tracking are provided, and all finishers receive a medal and mementoes; free downloadable race photos are available. Personal nutrition drops are allowed, with support to place nutrition at the third and fourth checkpoints. Massage is available before and after the event. Mandatory kit includes a fully charged phone, a foil blanket, and a full 500 ml fluid container; recommended items include a waterproof jacket, a cup, a method of payment, and the course map. The published cut off is 9 hours 12 minutes. Entries close on 24 May unless capacity is reached earlier. Organiser: Racing Line Running.
