Beat The Sunset 50km : Saturday 30 May 2026

The Beat The Sunset 50km ultramarathon takes place in Maidenhead with venue at Summerleaze Park / NMCC Sports Club (SL6 8SP). The event covers 50 km on a single lap multi terrain route with 235 m of elevation.

The course is fully signed and is reported as about 75% off road and generally flat. The route runs along the Thames Path, the Jubilee River and the Green Way. A provisional course map and a GPX file are provided by the organiser.

There are four checkpoints at approximately 10 km intervals. Checkpoints provide cola, water and a selection of sweet and savoury snacks. Personal nutrition drops are accepted and can be moved to the 3rd and 4th checkpoints. The event includes aid stations, toilets, medical back up, chip timing, live tracking and free downloadable race photos. Massage is available before and after the event. All finishers receive a medal and mementoes; prizes are awarded and there is an onsite bar at the sports club next to the finish area.

Mandatory kit includes a fully charged phone, foil blanket and a full 500 ml bottle or vessel for fluids. The published cut off is 9 hours 12 minutes, which matches the official end of daylight on the race day.
