Dorney Lake Triathlon
The Dorney Lake Triathlon takes place at a purpose-built Olympic venue in Windsor. This event features a swim in the lake followed by a bike and run course on entirely flat grounds. The terrain consists of road surfaces, and the flat profile of the venue is designed to support participants aiming for chip-timed personal bests.
Participants can choose from several individual triathlon distances or alternative formats:
- Super Sprint: 400m swim, 9.5km bike (2 laps), and 2.5km run.
- Sprint: 750m swim, 19km bike (4 laps), and 5km run.
- Standard: 1500m swim, 38km bike (8 laps), and 10km run.
- Aquabike: A swim and bike only option available for Sprint and Standard distances.
- Relay: Teams of 2 or 3 people can share the disciplines for the Sprint or Standard distances.
The course is accurately marked with distance flags for each discipline, and marshals are stationed throughout the venue to provide guidance. An event village is located on-site, offering various food and drink options. All participants receive chip-timed results, a themed medal, free race photos, and post-race refreshments. This event is held in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
