Guildford Triathlon and Kids Aquathlon
The Guildford Triathlon and Kids Aquathlon takes place at the Surrey Sports Park in Guildford. This event supports Macmillan Cancer Support and offers participants the opportunity to compete in multisport disciplines within a professional sports facility and the surrounding countryside.
The event features two primary formats:
- Sprint Triathlon: Includes an indoor pool swim, an open road bike course, and a 5 km trail run.
- Kids TriStar Aquathlon: A swim and run event designed for children aged 8 to 14.
The Sprint Triathlon begins with a swim in the indoor pool facilities at the Surrey Sports Park. After the swim, the cycling leg transition leads participants onto open roads, passing through Worplesdon, Pirbright, and Normandy. The route eventually returns to the park for the final segment, which consists of a 5 km scenic forest trail run.
The Kids TriStar Aquathlon serves as an introductory multisport event for younger athletes. It is structured for children between the ages of 8 and 14, accommodate those trying the sport for the first time as well as returning participants.
Participants receive their specific wave assignments and start times via email during the week preceding the event. Event merchandise, including a themed T-shirt featuring the race logo, is available for purchase. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
