About the race
The Fall 50 is a 50.7 mile road running event along the western shoreline of the Door County peninsula in Wisconsin. The route begins at the Shoreline Restaurant in Gills Rock and finishes at Sunset Park in Sturgeon Bay. The course is divided into ten legs and passes through Ellison Bay, Sister Bay, Ephraim, Peninsula Park, Fish Creek, Egg Harbor, and Carlsville. The entire route is on paved asphalt.
The course is not closed to motor vehicles, so participants should expect traffic and will typically run on the side of the road where the red Fall 50 signs are located. Red signs mark every turn and mile marker along the route. Teams must use designated exchange points for hand offs. There are nine exchange points that provide parking, volunteers, bathroom facilities, food and drink, and a marked hand off area.
On course provisions at every exchange include cups, water, Gatorade, Clif Bars, fruit, and cookies. Exchange 5 at Juddville (mile 29) offers a Half Way Buffet with hot soup, sandwiches, and heavier snacks. Gear check is available for solo runners at Stone Harbor Resort during packet pick up and at the start line on race morning.
GPX and KML course files are provided for navigation devices. Registration opens April 1, 2026 and pricing varies by registration period and entry type. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
