Donuts and Divas (& Dudes) 5K
The Donuts and Divas (& Dudes) 5K is an annual running and walking event held in Urbana, Ohio. The event takes place at Melvin Miller Park and follows a course through the park and the adjoining residential neighborhoods. Participants are encouraged to wear themed attire such as tutus and tiaras, which are also available for purchase on-site.
The event offers two distinct distances:
- 5 km
- 1 mile
The 5 km route is a timed run or walk. The 1 mile option is a non-timed fun run designed for children and those seeking a shorter distance. Participants in the 5 km event receive a shirt and a custom-made medal if registered by the specified deadline, as well as a doughnut and a drink after the race. The event also features music and door prizes.
All proceeds from the race benefit Belle's Yellow Legacy of Love, a 501(c)(3) organization that provides support and inclusion for individuals and families affected by autism and other special needs. The event is held in memory of Belle Baber.
Parking is available in multiple lots located around Melvin Miller Park. According to event regulations, animals are not permitted on the course, with the exception of service animals. Organizers advise against the use of headphones or earbuds to ensure participants can hear instructions from staff and first responders.
