Event overview
The Donut 8k & Munchkin 1 Miler is a community running event on February 28, 2026, held at Ira B. Jones Elementary School on Kimberly Avenue in Asheville, NC. The event is organized by Kick It Event Management in partnership with the Ira B. Jones Family Teacher Organization. Proceeds from the event will benefit Jones Elementary School programs and initiatives.
Race details and policies
Distances offered:
- 8K - chip timed; t-shirt included.
- 1 Mile (Munchkin) - chip timed; t-shirt included.
- Sprinkle Dash - untimed fun run for ages 12 and under; no shirt.
Registration opens October 15 and runs through late February, with pricing tiers for the 8k changing by registration window. Course maps are provided for each distance; courses are subject to change. Packet pickup is scheduled for race day and awards will be presented after the races.
The event has a no-refund policy; refunds and deferrals are not permitted for injury, illness, work conflicts, postponement, or cancellation. In the event of inclement weather, the race may be postponed to April 11, 2026, at the race director's discretion. Transfers to a virtual entry, a different runner, or a different distance are allowed up to five days before the event; after that cutoff a flat $10 shipping fee applies for moving to a virtual entry.
