Event Overview
Dollywood's Light The Way 5k is a nighttime running event held at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. It takes place during the park's Smoky Mountain Christmas festival, which features over six million Christmas lights.

The event includes several options:
- Dollywood's Light the Way 5K - A timed 5K run.
- Dollywood's Light The Way 1 Mile Fun Walk - A 1-mile walk.
- Virtual options for both the 5K and 1-mile events.
The 5K is intended for runners, while walkers are directed to the 1-mile fun walk. Strollers are not permitted.
Course Details
The 5K course was re-certified for 2024. It uses a streamlined route that starts at a different location than previous years. More than half of the course is located outside the park grounds, first using Dollywood's tram road before finishing inside the park among the Christmas lights.
Registration and Participation
Registration for the in-person 5K is limited to 1,500 participants. Registration for the 2026 event opens on March 1, 2026.
Awards
All 5K participants receive a commemorative medal. Awards are given to the top three overall finishers and the top three male and female finishers. Awards are not mailed and must be collected in person.
