Dolgellau 5 Mile Road Race
The event is a 5 miles road race in Dolgellau known locally as the Dol 5. The course begins with a steep climb out of town, then opens out to scenic views before a mostly downhill return to the finish.
Entries are accepted online via Fabian4 with different fees for UKA affiliated and non affiliated athletes, and there is an on the day entry option. Entry is limited to 120 runners. There is no fun run this year.
Race headquarters are at Dolgellau Rugby Club LL40 1UU with number pick up handled there. The club provides changing rooms but no showers and bags are left at owners risk. Parking is available at Marian Mawr and Glan Wnion Leisure Centre pay car parks and the paybyphone app is accepted. The race start is at the bottom of Llanfachreth Road, about a ten minute walk from race headquarters.
Hydration is provided at the finish and possibly on course if conditions are very hot. First aid cover is located at the finish and a defibrillator is available at Gwyndaf Evans Motors Marian Mawr. Prizes are awarded for male and female categories including Under 23 and veteran age groups, and all finishers receive a memento. Light refreshments and a bar are available at the rugby club.
