Ras yr Aran
Ras yr Aran is a fell race held from Llanuwchllyn Village Hall (LL23 7NA, SH872261). The main event covers 16.1 km (10 mi) with 945 m / 3100 ft of ascent. Entry is restricted to adults over 18. Course records stand at 1:23:03 (male, 2022) and 1:36:01 (female, 2020).
The route is part of the Meirionnydd Winter Series. The course is partially marked; local knowledge is beneficial and significant mountain running experience is required. Competitors must have navigational skills and carry full kit as specified by the organisers. Showers are available after the race. No dogs are allowed. The event is insured by WFRA.
A junior race is also held with a distance of 3.25 km (2.02 mi) and 150 m / 492 ft of climb; minimum age for juniors is 11 (on the day). Entry fees are listed as £8 online and £10 on the day for the main race, and £3 online and £5 on the day for juniors. Both online and on-the-day entry options are offered.
