Dole 3 Miler
The Dole 3 Miler is an annual three mile road race held in early August in Fryeburg, Maine. The event was created to celebrate the life and interests of a Fryeburg native who ran in the first sub 4 minute mile. It is organized by the Fryeburg New Church Assembly and the Fryeburg New Church.
The race includes both in person and virtual participation. The Dole 3 Miler carries an active fundraising component each year and publishes photos and videos from past editions.
Prizes are awarded to top finishers and include cash awards for the top three female and male finishers ($200, $100, $50 respectively), a $50 award for fifth overall, age group awards such as first in the 80 plus category and first in the 12 and under category at $50 each, and a $50 award for the top fundraiser. Tracksmith is listed as a lead sponsor and provides prizes.
The event has been held annually since 2017 and the Thirteenth Annual Dole 3 Miler is scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2026. Previous editions from 2017 through 2025 are noted on event materials. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
