Course, categories and awards
All events use the same 3.42 mile loop. Each loop has about 400 feet of elevation change and includes a couple of stream crossings. The course is described as rolling. Beginning in 2020 the races are cupless; runners may leave a cup at the start/finish area. A hiker category is available; hikers receive credit and finisher awards for mileage targets without running. The Parent Loop is a single loop (about 5k) with a finish time, a shirt, and a finisher's award.
Relay teams may have 3 to 6 participants; the ideal size listed is 6 for the 48 hour relay and 4 for the 12 and 24 hour relays. Prizes are awarded 1st–3rd male and female per distance; only the 1st place relay team receives a prize. Finisher awards are given for 50k, 50 miles, 100k, and 100 miles; 100 mile finishers receive a belt buckle. Only complete laps count; runners must finish the current lap by the time cap for it to count. Refunds and bib transfers are not offered; deferral to next year may be available. Gluten free options will be stocked at aid stations when requested on registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
