About the race
Dog Days of Summer is a running event at Dawson Park at Lake McIntosh in Longmont, Colorado. The main race follows a 3.5 mile loop around the lake on a course that is half paved and half dirt, and the route passes mountain views, farmlands, and aquatic wildlife.
Pre-event activities are centered at Dawson Neighborhood Park near the pirate ship playground, where there are vendors, music, and games. The event includes a shorter Kidz Dash and encourages participants to include their dogs.

Registration details are listed per event: the 3.5 Mile race registration opened March 12, 2027 and closes June 30, 2027 with a registration fee of $35.00. The Kidz Dash registration opened March 12, 2027 and closes August 7, 2027 with a registration fee of $20.00.
The event has a charitable partnership with the Longmont Humane Society. An optional Wag Wave add-on to registration directs its added fee to the humane society, and a portion of event proceeds will be donated to support animals sheltered there.
