D&L RaceFest
The D&L RaceFest is a point-to-point event held on the historic D&L Trail along the Lehigh River. The marathon course is USATF-certified and serves as a Boston-qualifier, starting in downtown Allentown and traveling through Little Lehigh Parkway. The half marathon distance originates in historic downtown Bethlehem. All races conclude in downtown Easton at the confluence of the Delaware and Lehigh Rivers.
Available distances and categories include:
- 26.2 Miles (Marathon): A net downhill course with surfaces consisting of fine gravel or macadam. The event is limited to 500 participants and has a 6.5-hour time limit.
- Marathon Relay: A five-person team event following the full marathon route. Participants must be over the age of 10.
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon): Separate categories are available for runners, walkers, and combined run/walk participants. The walking category requires at least one foot on the ground at all times and features a 4.5-hour pacer. The field is limited to 1,350 combined participants.
The trail provides a maintained surface designed for a fast course with views of the river and autumn scenery. Proceeds from the event support the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor and its environmental programming. Participants must meet age requirements for specific distances, with the full marathon restricted to those 18 and older. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
