Dizzy Fifties - Monte Sano State Park, Huntsville AL
The Dizzy Fifties event on Saturday, November 21, 2026 is organized by the Huntsville Track Club. It offers three looped trail distances at Monte Sano State Park and uses a common figure-8 style course with a central pavilion aid area.
- 50K - 3 loops, ~3,000 ft total gain
- 20 Mile - 2 loops, ~2,000 ft total gain
- 10 Mile - 1 loop, ~1,000 ft total gain
Each "big" loop is about 10 miles with roughly 1,000 ft of climbing. The loop begins on the South Plateau Loop, Firetower, and the Family Bike Trail, passes near the pavilion aid station around 6.4 miles, then descends through Logan-Keith before the climb up Sinks and a return to the pavilion. Runners must check in at the arch after completing each big loop.
The race is cupless; runners receive a reusable cup. One fully stocked pavilion aid station provides water, sodas, and common trail fare. Medical support is provided by HEMSI. Race capacity is 200 entrants and parking is limited; park entry is included with registration. Distance changes to a shorter option are allowed before Tuesday, November 17. Bibs must be worn on the front, bib transfers are not allowed, and finish results are only awarded for the distance registered as of the change deadline. Bicycles, strollers, pets, roller skates, and skateboards are not permitted on course and use of headphones is discouraged. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
