Dizzy Fifties - Monte Sano State Park
Dizzy Fifties is a trail running event held at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, AL on November 21, 2026. The Huntsville Track Club organizes the 23rd annual running of the event, which features looped courses around the park.
Distance options
- 50K Three 10 mile loops, approximately 3,000 ft gain total.
- 20 Mile Two 10 mile loops, about 2,000 ft gain.
- 10 Mile One 10 mile loop, about 1,000 ft gain.
All distances follow the same figure eight style "big" loop. The first half uses the South Plateau Loop, Firetower and the Family Bike Trail (Bucca) and passes near the pavilion aid station at about 6.4 miles. The second half descends off the plateau, goes through Logan-Keith, includes the climb up Sinks, and returns to the pavilion. Runners must check in at the arch after completing each 10 mile loop.
The race is cupless; participants receive a reusable cup. One fully stocked aid station is located at the pavilion with sweet, salty and classic trail fare plus water and sodas. Personal aid may be set up on pavilion picnic tables. Aid opportunities vary by distance with five for the 50K, three for the 20 Mile and one for the 10 Mile. Medical support is provided by HEMSI.
Logistics and rules include a total field cap of 200 runners, limited parking, park entry included with the race fee, a requirement to wear the bib on the front and visible at all times, no bib transfers and no drop down finishes. Prohibited on course are bicycles, strollers, pets, roller skates and skateboards. The use of headphones is strongly discouraged. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
