Event Overview
The Dizzy Fifties is a trail running event taking place at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, Alabama. The 2026 edition is the 23rd annual event and is organized by the Huntsville Track Club. It offers three distances: a 50K, a 20 Mile, and a 10 Mile race. The event features a looped course.
The Course
All distances follow the same figure-8-style "big" loop, which is approximately 10 miles long with about 1,000 feet of climbing per loop. The total elevation gain for the 50K is around 3,000 feet. The course starts with a flatter section on trails like the South Plateau Loop, Firetower, and the Family Bike Trail, before dipping off the plateau and returning via a section that includes a climb called Sinks. The start and finish location is the John Scoble Memorial Pavilion (the Bikers Pavilion). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
