Dizzy Fifties : Monte Sano State Park, Huntsville AL, November 21, 2026
The Dizzy Fifties is a trail race produced by the Huntsville Track Club. The event is the 23rd edition and offers three looped distances that share the same figure 8 style course centered on the John Scoble Memorial Pavilion.
Distances
- 50K (three big loops, roughly 3,000 ft total gain)
- 20 Mile (two big loops)
- 10 Mile (one big loop)
Each big loop is about 10 miles and involves approximately 1,000 ft of climbing. The loop begins on plateau trails including South Plateau Loop, Firetower, and the Family Bike Trail, passes near the pavilion at about 6.4 miles, then descends through Logan-Keith and up the Sinks climb before returning to the pavilion. Runners must check in at the finish arch after each big loop to record laps.
The race is cupless; participants receive a reusable cup. One fully stocked aid station will operate at the pavilion with food, water, and sodas, and personal aid may be set up on pavilion picnic tables. Medical support is provided by HEMSI. Race entries are capped at 200 runners. Registrants who need to switch to a shorter distance must do so by November 17, 2026; no day of race switches are allowed. Bibs must be worn on the front and are not transferable. Do not litter and follow on-course rules prohibiting bicycles, strollers, pets, roller skates, and skateboards.
