District Ekiden
District Ekiden is a first annual relay-style running event scheduled for August 14, 2026, in Washington, DC at 355 Water Street SE. The event follows an Ekiden-style format rooted in the heritage of Japanese road racing and features club teams from the District and the surrounding region.
The course distance is 11.2 miles. Teams consist of up to four members and compete as club relays. Clubs may enter multiple teams; each team registers with a captain and a unique team name. Participation is limited to 100 teams.
