2027 District Dash 5k & Half
The event on February 21, 2027 includes a half marathon and a 5K on the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal path in Georgetown and Fletcher’s Boathouse. Both courses are out-and-back routes on a light gravel trail with minimal elevation change; the half marathon begins and ends near the Potomac Boat Club while the 5K begins and ends at Fletcher’s Boathouse.
Points earned at the event count toward the Year-Long 5K, Endurance, Back of the Pack, and Winter series. A virtual race option is available for runners who cannot attend in person. Walkers and strollers are permitted on course.
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (DriFit) event shirt, and chip timing. The half marathon has a completion time limit of 3 hours 15 minutes. Each race lists a Back of the Pack time to allocate series points to slower paces; this is not a strict course cutoff.
Aid and facilities include seven water stations on the half marathon course at approximate mile markers 1.55, 3.8, 4.3, 6.55, 8.8, 9.3 and 11.55, and one water station on the 5K near mile 1.55; Gatorade is available at some stations. Port-a-johns are located near the half marathon check-in area and restrooms are available near the 5K start at Fletcher’s.
