Disco Dash 5K
Disco Dash is a glow filled night 5K along the New Westminster Quay, with start and finish at Pier Park at the new Park C near the residential towers. The event uses an out and back waterfront route that follows the boardwalk along the Fraser River. The path is mostly flat with gentle curves and includes a short detour into a residential path.
The 5K course is measured and professionally timed. Participants receive a unique finisher medal, a swag bag, and glow gear, and the race bib includes one beer. A licensed beer garden at the finish offers food and drinks; a post race massage is provided with proceeds donated to KidSport New West. The inaugural event raised over $2,000 for KidSport New West.
For 2026 the course layout and start finish location were updated. A free kids race is offered for children up to 11 years old; it is untimed, non competitive, and runs out and back to the end of the pier prior to the main 5K.
Race kit pickup is handled at Steel & Oak Brewing Co., with pickup dates to be announced; runners collect a bib, glow gear, and swag bag and may need ID or confirmation if collecting for someone else. On site services include bag check at the start finish, water and a snack station, and on site first aid. Parking near Pier Park is paid and may be limited due to other events.
