About the race
The Dirty Wookie 10K & 5K takes place in downtown Reno on Saturday, October 24, 2026. The event offers two distances and course formats with professional course support and timing.
The courses and key locations:
- 10 km point to point course starting at Reno Running Company – LAKESIDE and finishing at J Resort Festival Grounds.
- 5 km out and back that starts and finishes at J Resort Festival Grounds and runs through Idlewild Park.
All participants receive a unique finisher's medal, a race bib with chip timing, and complimentary race photos. The event includes an awards ceremony, costume awards, and a finish line festival with music and vendors. A single complimentary beer is available per person age 21 and over with valid ID.
Transportation and logistics: bus rides from the festival grounds to the 10K start are available for a non refundable $10 with a limited number of tickets; there is no bus service returning runners to the 10K start after the race. Walkers are welcome on both courses but the 10K has a two hour course cutoff; streets will no longer be closed after that time and participants must move to the sidewalk to complete the event.
Race extras and retail: technical shirts are available for purchase until September 26 for $25 and themed beanies until September 27 for $15.
