Event Overview
The Dirty Spokes Iron Hill trail running event takes place at Red Top Mountain State Park in Cartersville, Georgia. This event marks the 10th edition of the race, which utilizes the park's scenic natural environment. Participation is limited to a maximum of 325 runners due to parking and trail capacity constraints.
Course Information
The race provides an off-road running experience on a mix of single and double track trails. The terrain predominantly follows an old fire road bed. Both distances start in the parking lot before entering the wooded sections of the park. Available distances include:
- 7.5 miles
- 3.8 miles
Logistics and Awards
Registration and packet pickup are located at the Iron Hill Trail parking lot. A parking fee is required by Georgia State Parks for each vehicle entering the site. Participants receive a tri-blend shirt, though availability is not guaranteed for those registering late or on the day of the event.
Awards are presented to the top three finishers in several age categories, ranging from under 14 to over 80. Specific recognition is also given to winners in the Masters, Grandmasters, and Senior Grandmasters categories for both male and female runners.
