Event details
The Dirty Grass Soul Rockin’ and Running 5k is scheduled for July 4, 2026 in Fallston, North Carolina (112 Gary St, Fallston, NC 28042). This is the third annual running of the event. Proceeds support music education in Cleveland County Schools through the Cleveland County Schools Education Foundation, designated to the Dirty Grass Soul Music & Arts Fund.

Entry fees listed are $30 for the 5k Timed and $25 for the Student 5k. Registration closes July 1, 2026 at 11:59 pm. Registrations completed by June 7 are guaranteed a T-shirt.
Course and logistics
The course begins and finishes at Fallston Elementary School and follows local roads, including NC Hwy 18, Charolais Dr., Fallston-Waco Rd., NC 182 (Stage Coach Trail) and Boggs Dr. A course map and a downloadable PDF are available.
Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, June 27 (6:00-8:00 pm) at Fallston Elementary School and Saturday, June 28 (6:30-7:00 am). Awards are given to 1st overall male and female, and 1st through 3rd place in each age group. All finishers receive a medal. Age groups are 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
