About the race
Dirty Feet Trail Run #3 takes place at Kalamalka Provincial Park in Vernon, BC and offers three trail distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- 21 km
All distances start and finish at the beach. The course combines single track and gravel sections with rocks, roots, dirt, creeks and bridges. There are sections of double track to allow passing, and flags mark the route.
The finish is located on a beach by the lake, and participants may enter the water to cool off after the run. The event notes that the run can be very warm in July and the lake is a common way to cool down.
The event provides a professionally marked course, first aid coverage and official timing. Aid station provision varies by distance: the 5 km uses only the finish area, the 10 km includes one aid station, and the 21 km includes two aid stations plus the finish area. Optional participant medals are available for advance purchase or on race day for a higher price. Shirts, hoodies and hats will be sold at the event and payment by cash, debit card or credit card is accepted.
Race package pick-up is offered on the two days before the event at a Vernon pickup location, with an on-site option on race day. Entry fees listed range from about $40 to $65 with scheduled price increases earlier in the year.
