About the race
The Dirty Feet Trail Run #1 takes place in Lac Du Bois Grasslands Park in Kamloops, British Columbia. This early season event features a desert-like environment with trails that pass through open grasslands and sagebrush. Participants can observe views of the Thompson River valley and the city of Kamloops along the route.
The courses consist largely of single-track paths with some rocky sections. Because the surrounding area contains cacti, runners are advised to remain on the marked trails. Local wildlife, including various birds and deer, are frequently seen in the park. The event offers three distinct distance options:
- 5 km course through the grasslands.
- 10 km course through the grasslands.
- 21 km course featuring some route changes from previous years.
There is no parking available at the race start or finish area. All participants must park at designated locations on Windsor Ave or near 1200 8th St and use the provided shuttle service to reach the event site. Shuttles begin operating in the morning and will return runners to their vehicles after the race.
Aid stations vary by distance. The 5 km route does not have an on-course station, while the 10 km has one and the 21 km has two. These stations provide water, electrolyte drinks, and various sweet and salty snacks. Top finishers in each category and gender receive prizes, and additional draw prizes are available for participants present at the event.
